Visiting our Students in Rome

We are always happy when family members and friends have the opportunity to visit our students in Rome.

  • Please keep in mind that the students have as demanding an academic schedule as they do in the US and may not miss class to visit with family members. Please plan your visits around their classes. The calendar can be found here: fall, spring.

  • Family members may wish to visit during Family Week, when we have organized special events while the students are in class and have integrated some of the classes into the special events. The schedules can be found here: fall, spring.

Some Suggestions

Please note that these are suggestions only and neither the program or the university can take responsibility for the quality of the service offered by the companies mentioned.

Hotels
There are some hotels very near the campus. Some suggestions can be found here.

Arriving in Rome

Transportation from the airport
Rome has two airports: Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino and a smaller airport in Ciampino. Flights from the US ususall arrive at Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino).

Airport shuttle
You may book a shuttle in advance to bring you from the airport to your hotel. You can find out more information at www.airportshuttle.it. They will be waiting for you with a little sign with your name on it.

Taxi
A taxi is the easiest (although more expensive) way to your hotel with your luggage. Do not accept a taxi ride from people approaching you in or outside the airport saying "taxi". These are unregulated and may charge you an enormous fee and could be just anyone. Instead, go outside and look for the line of white taxis waiting at the taxi stand. The fixed price into Rome for the legal taxis is 40 euro, luggage and tip included.
Here is a statement of the fixed price taxi package that you can print for your own reference and to show to the taxi driver
