Religious houses provide simple accommodation at very low prices. There
are often limited desk hours (be sure to advise about your expected time of
arrival) and they often close the doors for the night between 10 and 11pm (curfew).
The plus is that you stay in a religious atmosphere and your time in Rome
can more easily become a pilgrimage.
