Spring 2013 Calendar (tentative)

The semester begins on Thursday, January 3 at 3.30pm.

The semester ends on Sunday, April 28 at noon. Students are welcome to stay in Rome beyond this time, but will have to find their own accommodations. Students should not plan to stay more than 90 days either before or after the dates that their visa is valid, however, since that is against Italian law and could have serious repercussions.

A detailed semester calendar will be posted as the semester draws near.

Class attendance and travel

Students are expected to attend every class meeting of the courses for which they are registered. Care should be taken to not schedule trips that might lead to missed classes. See the detailed attendance policy here.

There may be changes to the calendar before the semester starts. Students should not schedule any mid-semester trips before the semester beings.

• January 8-11: First week of classes, with orientation events

• January 12: Morning visit to St. Peter's Basilica

• January 12: Afternoon visit to the Castelli Romani

• February 2-4: Trip to Tuscany

• February 9: Trip to a Buffalo Farm, with lunch

• March 4-8: Midterms Week

• March 9-17: Spring Break

• March 18-22: Family Week

• March 23: Day trip to Assisi

• April 13-15: Trip to the Bay of Naples

• April 22-26: Finals Week

• April 26-27: Closing Events

• April 28: Move out of host family by noon
