Spring 2010 Calendar

The semester begins on Friday, January 7 at 10.30am.

The semester ends on Sunday, May 1 at noon. Students are welcome to stay in Rome beyond this time, but will have to find their own accommodations. Students should not plan to stay more than 90 days either before or after the dates that their visa is valid, however, since that is against Italian law and could have serious repercussions.

Class attendance and travel

Students are expected to attend every class meeting of the courses for which they are registered. Care should be taken to not schedule trips that might lead to missed classes. See the detailed attendance policy here.

There may be changes to the calendar before the semester starts. Students should not schedule any mid-semester trips before the semester beings.

Important dates (subject to change)

• Friday, January 7: Arrive at the hotel by 10.30

• Friday, January 7 - Sunday, January 9: Orientation weekend

• January 10-15: First week of classes, with orientation events

• February 5-7: Trip to Tuscany

• February 19: Optional trip to a Mozzarella Farm, with lunch

• February 28-March 4: Midterms Week

• March 4-12: Spring Break

• March 13-18: Family Week

• April 16-18: Trip to the Bay of Naples

• March 26-27: Optional overnight Lenten reflection in Assisi

• April 26-29: Finals Week

• April 29: Closing Mass and Final Dinner

• May 1: Move out of host family by noon
