Spring 2012 Calendar

The semester begins on Thursday, January 5 at 3.30pm.

The semester ends on Sunday, April 29 at noon. Students are welcome to stay in Rome beyond this time, but will have to find their own accommodations.

Students should not plan to stay more than 90 days either before or after the dates that their visa is valid, however, since that is against Italian law and could have serious repercussions. In addition, students may not be able to travel outside of Italy beyond the dates of the program, depending on the rules of the desired destination.

Class attendance and travel

Students are expected to attend every class meeting of the courses for which they are registered. Care should be taken to not schedule trips that might lead to missed classes. See the detailed attendance policy here.

There may be changes to the calendar before the semester starts. Students should not schedule any mid-semester trips before the semester beings.

• Thursday, January 5: Arrive at the hotel by 15.30

• Thursday, January 5 - Sunday, January 8: Orientation weekend

• January 9-13: First week of classes, with orientation events

• January 14: Morning visit to St. Peter's Basilica

• February 4-6: Trip to Tuscany

• February 18: Trip to a Buffalo Farm, with lunch

• February 27-March 2: Midterms Week

• March 4-10: Spring Break

• March 26-30: Family Week

• March 31: Day trip to Assisi

• April 14-16: Trip to the Bay of Naples

• April 23-27: Finals Week

• April 27-28: Closing Events

• April 29: Move out of host family by noon
