Fall 2011 Calendar (tentative)

The semester begins on Friday, August 24 at 10.30am.

The semester ends on Sunday, December 16 at noon. Students are welcome to stay in Rome beyond this time, but will have to find their own accommodations. Students should not plan to stay more than 90 days either before or after the dates that their visa is valid, however, since that is against Italian law and could have serious repercussions.

A detailed semester calendar will be posted as the semester draws near. There may be changes before the semester starts.

Students should not schedule any mid-semester trips before the semester beings.

Students are expected to attend every class meeting of the courses for which they are registered. Care should be taken to not schedule trips that might lead to missed classes. See the detailed attendance policy here.

• Friday, August 24: Arrive at the hotel by 10.30

• Friday, August 24 - Sunday, August 26: Orientation weekend

• August 27-31: First week of classes, with orientation events

• September 8: Morning visit to St. Peter's Basilica

• September 8: Afternoon visit to the Castelli Romani

• September 22-24: Trip to Tuscany

• October 13: Trip to a Buffalo Farm, with lunch

• October 22-26: Midterms Week

• October 27-November 4: Fall Break

• November 11: Class trip to Naples

• November 12-16: Family Week

• November 17: Day trip to Assisi

• December 1-3: Trip to the Bay of Naples

• December 10-14: Finals Week

• December 14-15: Closing Events

• December 16: Move out of host family by noon
